My Hermione Potions and Spell Book

I spent the last few days making a Halloween spell book.
You can find so many example and tutorials online at Pinterest so I did not make a tutorial.  It turned out so awesome.
"Hermione Potions Spells"

Follow the spiders on the back of the book.

I am thinking I need to make another because it is so easy and so very cool.

Paper Mache Pumpkin

I  love this time of year.  The colors. The holidays. The decorations.

Paper Mache Pumpkins are the coolest.  I still need to paint it but this is the process of making one. Ok so they are out of order but you get the idea.

Fall lantern swag

Fall is coming and to get ready I changed my Patriotic lantern to a Fall lantern.  I popped over to Hobby Lobby for supplies and came up with this Fall lantern.

I am not sure if I am done with the swag.  I might add more stuff to it.  It is also not hanging on the lantern the way I would like so I need to adjust it. But for now it will work.

Hippity Hop Easter Egg Decoration

I was in the mood to make another Easter Decoration.  I especially like the Bow.

Here are a few of the items that I used.  As you can see I started by cutting 1.5 inch ribbon at graduating lengths starting with 18 inches all the way up to 23 inches.

Here is some more items that I used. You can print any saying that you want Eastery.

Lets start with the bow.  I am a fan of SouthernCharmWreaths.com.
She makes bows with lots of ribbons and you can look on her website to get the video tutorials or you can just look at the pictures and steps that I took to make my bow.
Take each cut ribbon, bring both ends together and fold it in half like the picture above to make dove tails.

Cut at an angle like picture above.

both ends will look like this.

To make the loop I measured in half at look at 4 inchs.

I pinched the loop together and twist the end facing away to the front so each ends are the good side of the ribbon.

Oh I almost forgot.  You need a pipe cleaner folded in half before you start pinching ribbons it is hard to do it afterwards with one hand.  Set it aside.

Repeat the length of the loops for each ribbon and pinch stacking them in you hand.  It might take some doing putting all the ribbons in your one hand it is easy to lose your grip.

Now with the pipe cleaner hold all the ribbons together by twisting the pipe cleaner around the ribbon. Did that make sense I am not sure?

Your ribbon is made.  You can sit it on the table and fix the loops and tails to your liking.

Now to the Egg.

I chalked up the back of your printed words.

Trace the words on the egg.  The chalk will transfer onto the egg so to help you with your paint.

Using the sharpie paint markers I followed my chalk marks.

Last Glue on  your bow after the paint has dried.  That is really important.

Now hang on the door, wall or where ever you would like.

Enjoy and Happy Easter.

New Years Celebration Tree

My Christmas tree is so beautiful this year that I could not bare to take it down yet.  It is big, full and real. I bought it super fresh and still it drinks a lot of water every day.
I took off the Christmas ornaments and made New Years Celebration Tree.

I used colorful star garland, beads, balloons, masks and New Years party supplies.

The masks I found at Walmart in the Christmas picks. I bought them after Christmas when they were 50% off. SCORE! Also the colors are good for Mardi Gras as well. double SCORE!

I am having a hard time keeping some of the items on the tree like the hand clappers. Children want them now.

I hope all of you have a great New Year.

Time to make the resolutions.

Halloween Wreath updated

I have had this hanging on the wall on my front porch for weeks.  I just could not find the things to finish it off.

Thanks to all the new Christmas picks that have arrived at Michael's, I found the big swirly things and added them and the pumpkin to finally finish this wreath.
I love the SouthernCharmWreaths.com funky bows. So far all the holiday wreaths I have made have been using this technique.

Halloween decorations that I have started to make for 2014

I love this time a year.  Pinterest has so many great ideas.  I started making some of the decoration I saw on pinterest. I have so many that I am wanting to make I had to start now so I could be done by Oct 1st.
I made this paper mache pumpkin last year but was afraid to paint it.  Well I got over my fears and did it.  I need to seal it before it can go out side but it turned out so scary.

These foam signs will hang on a tree branch light pole that I have not finished yet.

And last my scary drippy candles made from PVC
pipes.
These are so awesome.  I am looking for more projects to start on, for the next few weeks.
Happy Halloween!!
