Last night in the Denver area we got hail.

Last Wednesday we had a Blizzard.

This afternoon we are getting another snow storm.

It is supposed to be Spring. Why the snow? 

We have three or four days of spring like weather than two days of winter weather.  Then back to three days of spring.  The next two or three days we are getting snow and cold weather.  I feel like we are on a teeter tooter. 

This is going to kill all the spring bulbs that are coming out.

I am afraid these will  not be able to survive the crazy weather.

Colorado and the Spring Break Blizzard

Yesterday we had a blizzard here in CO.  

It snowed from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. These two pictures were from the morning as it was started.

These are my girls enjoying the day after. It is said we got 13 inches.  At first they said it was a 4 to 6 inch blizzard.  

As the morning progressed they realized they got it totally wrong.

My favorite Snow Globe

My First grader brought this home yesterday.  I believe it is the best snow globe I have ever seen. 

I am not sure what she is trying to say.  She is a little behind but catching up to her grade level.  

If I lived in a snow globe...

She says she would make snow balls and a lot of snow angels.

I had to ask her

You got that right?

She is trying and I see lots of improvement.

What a cute idea. I love it.

Elf on the shelf night 19-Snow is falling up to 10 inches

 Last night the Elf made a snow angel.  My girls woke up and were nervous.  "The Elf was bad last night she got powder all over the floor.  Does that mean we were bad."  I laughed and asked what did the note say.  They had not even read it yet.  After they read it they felt much better.  

I tried to not make a mess, so I put it in a cookie sheet.  Well you can see that you could not tell what she was doing so I had to ditch the cookie sheet and just put the flour on the wood floor.  It should just vacuum up.

On a side note we were supposed to get 1-2 inches of snow over night.

I believe they got it wrong. The snow drifts on the porch is 10 inches so far.

Can you see the snow on the green trucks wind shield.  It cracks me up.

The totals by the end of the day should be well over 10 inches.  

The drifts should be more with the wind speed blowing sustained 20 plus miles an hour today.

Birds foraging in the winter

Today I am watching "Beautiful" foraging birds out my window.  I don't know what they are called but it is sure fun to watch.  ***Update!!  They are called Eastern Blue birds. With my new camera I am getting great shots.  They are preparing for the 12 - 24 inch blizzard we are supposed to get tonight and tomorrow in the Hudson Valley of New York.

This one seems to be watching me.  He is saying crazy human you are not storing food for the impending blizzard that is coming tomorrow.

I could do this all day from my living room window.  Well I would like to go outside and get more but it is cold and wet.

 Today is November 26,2014.  It is the day before Thanksgiving.  I have taken pictures periodically through out the day of the snow falling. First picture is about 11:30am.

Next it is 3:45pm.

last it is 5:30pm.  The lights make it so colorful.
