Row By Row

I have been working on more of the Rows that I have collected.
 Each on is unique.
It is interesting how every store interprets the theme "Home Sweet Home".  Some I can see some I just scratch my head.

2016 Row by Row is in full swing

It is that time a year again. It is time for Row by Row experience.
I have collected six rows so far but I have only finished 4 1/2.  The four finished rows are from : Castle Rock, Palmer Lake, Monument and Parker CO.

This kit was the most expensive I have ever bought.  It was $29.99.  All the pieces were laser cut. I just put the pieces on and ironed them on super easy.
Go visit your local quilt store and get a free pattern this summer

My Row by Row's from my summer move

I have been working on the Row by Row patterns that I collected while we moved from NY to CO.  It has been fun making them.  However, I have been disappointed by some of the directions or lack of directions in some of these patterns. This first on is from Pine Bush NY.

This one is from the City Quilter in NYC. You got to make your own ski line.  All these building are the ones I picked from the fabric in the kit.  No way could you use them all.

This is from a small town in Indiana. The store was called Nancy's Fancy's sewing corner.

I got this cute one in Abilene Kansas.  Love the shoes.

A day or so after we landed in CO, I went to the store in Aurora and got this one.  It reminds me of "America the beautiful" song when it says "for Purple mountains majesty" which by the way the song was written by a CO native about CO.

I didn't actually go to this store in Fresno CA.  My friend got it for me. I used to spend many summers in my childhood at Yosemite.  My parents took us every year until we moved back east when I was 15 years old.

Oops I forgot to turn this photo. I hate it when this happens.  This comes from Lee Summit MO. This store is fabulous, Its HUGE. I wish I had the time to look through the store better but we were on a mission to get across the country as soon as possible to get the kids in school.  My sister used to live by this store and my mom was a frequent costumer when she would go and visit her.

This cute row came from a equally cute shop in a small town in Clarion PA.  My girls came in and convinced my husband to buy 6 yards of Minion fabric.  He is such a sucker.  It is still sitting on the shelf in my craft room.  My eight year old would like to make PJ's with it.  Will see if it gets done before Christmas.

In Ohio I had a hard time finding a Quilt store.  We traveled through the state late in afternoon on a Saturday.  So all the stores were either closing soon and I was too far away or had already closed.  I was sure I had missed the opportunity.  Luck for me we stayed the night and this one store was the only place opened on a Sunday morning.  I drove a little out of my way on the way out of the state to get a row from OH.  Thank you Crafters Lodge in Sugar Creek Twp. for saving me the heart ache of missing a row from your state.

Row by Row road trip from NY to CO

My Family moved from NY to CO this summer.  It was crazy.  We are still waiting for are house hold goods.

I was able to add to my Row By Row stash.

In Clarion PA I got this cute ducks and umbrela pattern.
In Ohio I got this one the pattern is a view across the lake. (see picture below)

In Indiana, I stopped in a little town and found this one with fish under the water. I know it is hard to see.

In Illinois at the wooden spool, I dropped off the Illinois quilt barn guide.  A lady at the rest stop asked my to deliver them.  Crazy but I went to a quilt shop baring gifts.

Missouri was great.  The quilters Station in Lee Summit has the biggest quilt store I have ever seen.  I really wish I would have had time to really experience it.  The pattern was awesome but they would not let you take a picture of it.

Abilene, Kansas store the pattern was all about the shoes. Very Very cute. See picture below.

Last stop on the was to Co was in Aurora where we landed.

After talking to my mom between us we have something like 60 rows.  I can not wait to start putting some of these together.

I did find out that the theme for next summers Row By Row experiences will be revealed during Quilt Market in Houston, TX.

Row by row 2015 road trip take 1

How many of you have spent the summer going to all the Row by row quilt stores in your area.  Well I have been to just these so far.

My mom told me about this huge Shop Hop that is all over the country and Canada too.  Each of the about 2000 participating quilt shop has a unique pattern and licence plate.  The theme is "Water".  The Row by row experience runs from June to September. Each row can be put together to make a quilt.

My mom lives in AZ.  Last I talked to her she had been to 16 of the 31 quilt shops in AZ.  She has asked my sisters, who live in Kansas and Nebraska, and aunt who lives in Utah to go to some quilt shops to get her the pattern and licence plates too.  I also have been collecting them for her and my aunt also.
You can visit the website here http://www.rowbyrowexperience.com/

This one is from the Hudson Valley Quilt & Sew in Cornwall on the Hudson NY.

This is from The Quilt shop by Lois in Newtown CT.
By far my favorite so far is this one The City Quilter in NYC.
This is the fabric that you use to make your own unique NYC skyline.

This is the one I got today from the Quilters Attic Sewing Center in Pine Bush NY

This Sail boat fabric from the kit is so cute.

I am sorry to say that I have not made the quilt rows yet, because I had to put my sewing machine away.  We are moving in a few weeks to Denver Colorado! Yes again we are moving.  My plan is to stop in the states that we travel through to find at least one store and get the pattern and Licence plate.  Lets see how it goes.  After I have collected all the patterns up to and including Colorado, I will make the quilt.
I will make sure to update about you all the quilt shops I visit on the way west as well.
Happy Row by Row shoping.
