Ornament Exchange 2016

For the last 6 years I have participated  in an ornament exchange.  These two are the first that I have received for this year.  they are so cute.
The Nativity comes from Nicole, Boise ID

This Santa Globe came from Brandie, Mesa AZ.
Every year they are so creative and I enjoy going to the mail box and finding a new ornament.

Ornament exchange #6

I got the last ornament today.  It had two ornaments in it.  They are both glass.  I don't have very good experience with glass ornaments they tend to get broken very easily.  hopefully I can keep this from happening.

One is Gold metallic painted.

The other silver metallic painted.

If you look closely to the tree you will see that after more than 25 days this tree is still super green.  I feed this tree water every day.  It used to drink a gallon a day.  after two weeks it went to two quarts. Now it is about one quart of water.  It is slowing down but the tree is still so beautiful and feels so fresh. It has been a good Ornament exchange and I can not wait for the next years ornament exchange.
Merry Christmas.

Elf on the shelf last night

This has been a crazy few weeks. Watching the girls find the Elf.  Coming up with a plan for the Elf. She and the Reindeer leave tonight until next year.
I am sure glad that the girls got to give Ornament a hug and kiss before she goes away.
I will have to spend the next year coming up with new plans so she does not repeat any of this years.  If I find props I will need to get them.
It sure is a fun experience for the girls and I wish that I would have started this years ago when my teen age boys were young. Oh well live and learn.

Merry Christmas

Elf on the shelf night 27

We are coming to the end of the season.  Elf only has two more nights to be in the house.  She then goes to help Santa.
My nine year old wrote a note to the Elf last night telling her that yesterday she went to the LDS Bishop Store House to do service.  I think she was hoping that it would get her out of the warning of being on the naughty list.  I believe it worked. Elf's response was.

This of course made her very happy. Lets see if she can keep it up.

Swinging from the chandelier was the way Elf celebrated the event.

You got to love empty toilet paper rolls as a swing.

Just a side note. Don't you just love the Milk glass in the back ground.  I do. That's just three quarters of my milk glass the bigger pieces are above the kitchen cupboards.

Elf on the shelf night 26

Our Elf found a favorite book.  How the Grinch stole Christmas.

She shares her favorite part about the book. "It came without ribbons! I came without tags! It came with out packages, boxes or bags! And he puzzled three hours. Till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before! Maybe Christmas, he thought doesn't come from a store. Maybe Christmas...Perhaps...means a little bit more!

She read all day.

What a great story!

Elf on the shelf night 25

We have had lots of naughty behavior.  Mostly by one child. She changed this child's picture to herself.

She got into the toilet paper.

It was bound to happen.  All kids act naughty every once and a while.  She also made a type-o on her note.  oops!

Elf poop! LOL

The Elf even taped up all the kids doors!

Unfortunately it is not normal in are house right now so the naughtiness is making the Elf act very naughty herself.

Elf on the shelf night 24

Well, It had to happen.  We saw some very naughty behavior.  Pushing her sister was the last straw.  It was very much unwarranted and she did it right in front of her big brother.
She just seems to be way to comfortable.  Talking back to her parents and just having a sour disposition is just enough to send a warning shot.  Hopefully this will be enough to send the message. This warning notice is just what I needed. I am so glad that creative people make these available for us simple folk. LOL!
If you are interested in printing this warning notice you can go here http://www.supercouponlady.com/free-elf-warning-naughty-kids/
I printed the official naughty list certificate as well just as in case. you can print it here  http://blog.wackyjacquisdesigns.com/2013/12/naughty-list-warning-notice-from-santa-free-printable/

Elf on the shelf night 23

The Elf found a way to get back at the Soldiers or at least warn them.

She was able to convince the Star Wars Lego's to protect her.

We saw the Star Wars Force Awakens last night. The Elf needed the force.

These guys were trapped in a corner.

I don't think they will bother her again.

Thank goodness for the "Force".  Now she is safe to move about the house.
However, Somebody might be getting a warning about being on the naughty list.

Elf on the shelf night 22

The poor Elf, she was so frightened by yesterday that she hid herself so as to be hard to find.  So I thought.  She was found in less then two minutes.  I didn't think they would even look in the area she was found.  Oh well I guess my girls are smarter than I thought.  The Elf on the shelf is a huge success this year.  I still am planning to get Elf a boy friend next year.  My girls will be thrilled.

She hid behind all these Christmas picks in a big wooden stocking hanging by the front door.

This large wood stocking I made at Home Depot's Do-It-Her-Self Class.

Elf on the shelf night 21

Elf got her self into a little miss understanding.  She was looking to find toys to play tag.

The comments on Facebook today were quite clear. Some thought it was too violent or funny and blamed it on my husband.  My brother in law gave me some good ideas to let Elf get her revenge.  He said that I should have the soldiers tied to dynamite and have her be holding a match.  Or have the soldiers repelling down off a counter and have the Elf holding a pair of scissors.  Well I may or may not do this but it sure sounds funny.

She needed a lot of tape.   I was getting a little frustrated and went crazy because she kept falling.  She has been up all day and has not fallen yet so it worked.

My girls were mortified that this could happen to the Elf. Tomorrow I will need to do something to make them smile not be afraid.

Ornament exchange #4

This little lady snowman came today.  I believe she is made of polymer clay. Its a little bit bigger than a quarter but smaller than a silver dollar.

The ornament came in this cute tin box.

Elf on the shelf night 19-Snow is falling up to 10 inches

Last night the Elf made a snow angel.  My girls woke up and were nervous.  "The Elf was bad last night she got powder all over the floor.  Does that mean we were bad."  I laughed and asked what did the note say.  They had not even read it yet.  After they read it they felt much better.
I tried to not make a mess, so I put it in a cookie sheet.  Well you can see that you could not tell what she was doing so I had to ditch the cookie sheet and just put the flour on the wood floor.  It should just vacuum up.

On a side note we were supposed to get 1-2 inches of snow over night.
I believe they got it wrong. The snow drifts on the porch is 10 inches so far.

Can you see the snow on the green trucks wind shield.  It cracks me up.

The totals by the end of the day should be well over 10 inches.
The drifts should be more with the wind speed blowing sustained 20 plus miles an hour today.

Elf on the shelf night 18

Elf wanted to drive a car.

She borrowed Barbies Car.

Apparently they do not have many cars at the north pole.

Elf on the shelf night 17

The Elf loves to play "Uno".  She found some friends that would play with her.

The Elves play this game in the North Pole as well.
