OK. So every time I walk into the new Armed Forces Reserve Building at Fairchild Air Force Base, I get a big smile on my face. Why? Because of this quilt that took me 6 months to make. Now that is done and is hanging in the building, everybody can enjoy the fruits of my labor. This quilts is made up of the different Army Reserve and Army Guard units that will be using the build.
I am excited to be able to share this quilt with all of you out there with all you Blogger Quilt Festival lovers.

ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous quilt! Such a great project, I'm so glad it is hanging where it can get the attention it deserves.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful quilt! Great idea and superbly executed. I have a friend whose husband was in Korea, in the AF - every year they have a squadron reunion. She made a quilt with all their info on it, and they all signed it, and every year she adds the location of the reunion. Also, when one passes on, she puts a star next to their name. She had to put one on her hubby's name last year - he was 80. I think these are among the most touching of all quilts. Tell your hubby thank you for serving, from an Army vet.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great quilt and I'm so glad they are showcasing it at the base. It's a reflection of the commitment not only the serving member has, but the whole family commitment. And thank your hubby for doing a great job! It's appreciated.
ReplyDeleteOh, I wish I had seen this last Fall when we were visiting family in Spokane. I would have made a special trip to Fairchild AFB just to see your quilt. It is a great and meaningful quilt. I hope they display it for many years! Retired USAF Wife, Sandy

As a wife of a retired Army man... I was excited to find your blog amongst the Quilt Festival list :o) What a beautiful piece of art! How long did it take you to make? Did you do free motion quilting on it? I am a novice quilter with so many unfinished parts, pieces, tops, etc! This Quilt Festival has been so inspiring!
